JacobRolf Jacob Sartorius, a boy born in Oklahoma was brought up in Tulsa. As his parents were incapable of taking care of them shortly after his birth the child was put up for adoption and relocated to Virginia. The adoptive parents raised him within Reston, Virginia. He began performing in musicals at the age of seven. After the end of Vine, an American service for hosting short-form videos, in 2017, Sartorius lip-syncing videos posted through the site gained more than eight million followers in August of 2016. Social media provided him with an escape when he was harassed and then turned into one of the victims. He once said that he didn't seem to be the most socialized person prior to Musical.ly. He believed that nobody was watching other than the camera.
